Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Instrument Engineer on a contract basis working outside IR35. Hybrid working will be required, with 3 days per week in the Aberdeen office.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide instrument engineering support to the client contract as required.
  2. Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, client, and project standards.
  3. Originate and check instrument engineering deliverables on the client contract within budget and schedule.
  4. Maintain awareness of relevant regulatory frameworks, legislative changes, industry initiatives, and technological developments, promoting this knowledge to direct reports.
  5. Manage discipline CTRs, contribute to estimates, proposals, plans, and progress reports.
  6. Develop calculation packages as required.
  7. Perform site or client office visits if necessary.
  8. Present and describe engineering solutions and concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Organise, plan, and coordinate own work and resources assigned to specific projects.
  10. Support quality and technical assurance activities as needed.

Qualifications

MSc, MEng, or equivalent professional qualification; or BSc, BEng, or equivalent with considerable relevant experience; or HNC/HND or equivalent with relevant experience.
