Job Description
nexos are looking for an experienced Principal Instrument Engineer to join our Aberdeen-based team on a permanent basis. This opportunity will enable you to take ownership of executing instrument & control engineering activities, ensuring technical quality is maintained within budget and schedule.
Experience in a customer-focused environment, particularly with experience in modular instrument capabilities, would be ideal. A strong background in instrumentation and control design, compliance with industry standards, and working across multi-discipline teams will set you up for success in this role. You will be responsible for supervising and allocating workloads within the team, maintaining effective communication with clients and project stakeholders, and ensuring all engineering work is delivered to the highest standard.
In return, you will have the opportunity to work on a varied and dynamic portfolio, including tendering, continuous improvement, competence assurance, and engineering deliverables. You’ll play a key role in maintaining project plans, progress updates, and cost control while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. Regular engagement with customer focal points and attendance at key project meetings will be essential, alongside reviewing and approving engineering outputs, including digital approvals.
Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, as well as a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Instrumentation Engineering and Chartered Engineer status. Offshore certification (BOSIET, MIST) would be an advantage.
