Job summary

RSK LDE is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead major infrastructure projects from its Wigan area office in Greater Manchester. You will shape project strategy, oversee design quality and manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, innovative solutions, while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires an expert engineer with a relevant degree or HNC and proven experience in roads, sewers and residential development design, using AutoCAD, PDS for highways

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or HNC.
  • Experience in drawing production and the design of roads, sewers and residential developments.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PDS for highway design and ground modelling and CIRIA SuDS Manual
  • Understand and implement Designer's duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, lead and deliver designs for multiple projects on time and to budget whilst agreeing engineering strategies and ensure these are adhered to.
  • Mentor and manage more junior members of staff to ensure that they work to current Codes of Practice.
  • Prepare infrastructure designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD and other industry-standard software.
  • Work collaboratively within the design team to deliver projects to agreed timescales and quality standards.
  • Liaise with Local Authorities and Drainage Authorities to secure approvals for adoptable works (Sections 104, 38 and 278).
  • Undertake engineering calculations and designs in accordance with current standards, codes of practice and industry best practice.

The Vacancy

We are looking for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at LDE, an RSK Group company. This is a full time and permanent position that would suit someone who is wanting to work with a team of industry experts.

LDE are a building services engineering consultancy based in the Wigan area. Formed in 2003, RSK LDE provide a complete engineering design service for residential and commercial development projects, both pre and post planning. It now has a highly experienced team made up of professional civil and structural engineering staff with many years' experience in the assessment, design and construction of major development projects.

We are seeking a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to lead and manage the technical delivery of major infrastructure projects while shaping project strategy and maintaining strong client relationships. The role requires the provision of expert engineering guidance, oversight of design quality and risk management, and leadership of multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and commercially successful solutions. The successful candidate will ensure all projects are delivered in accordance with standards, regulations and programme requirements.
