We are recruiting for a Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's Birmingham office on a full-time hybrid basis. The role is within a team of drainage and development infrastructure specialists.

The Role
- Day-to-day project management in the delivery of concept studies and strategies, including hands-on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issues.
- Taking financial responsibility for your projects and ensuring they are delivered on budget, on time, and to technical standards.
- Working on varied multi-disciplinary projects and client accounts, liaising with clients at local and national levels.
- Direct line management, including mentoring and managing early career professionals, ensuring technical excellence in all deliverables.
- Assisting in the preparation of fee proposals and participating in business development activities.
- Helping maintain the culture and positive working environment within the team.
What You Need To Succeed
- Preferably a Civil Engineering degree and either Chartered or approaching Chartered status, with experience in highway and highway drainage design.
- Strong postgraduate experience in a civil engineering environment.
- Ability to produce masterplans, site appraisals, reports for planning applications, design calculations, and construction drawings.
- A solid engineering foundation and understanding of highway design and drainage principles.
- Experience using Civils 3D or PDS (or similar software) and applying Highways England/DMRB and Local Authority design guidance.
- Experience in drainage design using InfoDrainage and water company-related work, including relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, DMRB, and Local Authority Design Guides.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels to produce designs, drawings, and reports.
