Position: Senior Information Manager

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Information Manager to be engaged on a permanent basis in Derby or Manchester.

The Role

We are seeking a senior-level Information Manager with extensive industrial experience to join our team. This role combines elements of Digital / BIM Lead, BIM Manager, CAD Manager, Document Control Lead, and Systems Administrator, typically leading or coordinating medium to large-scale projects.

Your Purpose & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to engineering delivery projects as the Information Manager on projects or programmes of small to medium scale (<£1m), following ISO19650 standards and internal procedures.
  • Document strategies and approaches for BIM implementation and information management tailored to project requirements, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
  • Ensure project teams are trained in and adhere to information management standards, methods, and procedures.
  • Draft and maintain project reports on BIM and Information Management implementation.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of business processes related to information management, including application of BS EN ISO 19650.
  • Deliver positive project outcomes, ensuring benefits realization and success measurement through IM and digital services.
  • Contribute to proposals by providing guidance on strategies and approaches related to IM disciplines.
  • Consistently deliver high-standard work, build trust with teams, develop work plans, and manage project progress and expectations.
  • Network internally and externally to promote BIM and IM best practices, develop educational materials, and represent the team.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, customer needs, and technological solutions; capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering skill development and knowledge growth.

  • Ability to foster collaboration and build trust within and across teams.
  • Passion for advancing information management and digital transformation in the nuclear sector.
  • Motivated, proactive, and committed to personal and team development.
  • Several years of experience in heavy industries with a proven success record in IM/BIM project implementation.
  • Deep knowledge of Information Management/BIM and their role in digital transformation.
  • Relevant background or education in STEM, library sciences, computer sciences, or related fields.
