We are looking for a Principal Hydrogeologist to join our Environmental Compliance and Ground Engineering Team.

Purpose of Role:

Responsible for managing Water Science (Hydrogeology/Hydrochemistry) within the SW Environment Team. Acts as a Project Manager, contributing to the success of the office through effective project delivery, developing key client relationships, and securing new business.

Key contacts and relationships:
  • Internal: SW Environment Team Section Heads and Directors, Technical teams across the Region and Division, Support Functions (Finance, HR, Bids, Marketing)
  • External: Existing and New Clients, Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales
Key responsibilities:
  • Plan, review, and manage projects ensuring client requirements and deadlines are met according to QA standards
  • Take accountability for projects, monitoring performance and finances
  • Ensure quality control of project outputs, including project plans and fee agreements
  • Provide quality advice and ensure work meets standards
  • Contribute to business development, work winning, and marketing
  • Provide regular reports to the Technical Director
  • Support client management alongside Directors
  • Manage timesheets and holidays for responsible staff
Team and resource management:
  • Coordinate with other section heads and Directors for optimal staff and resource deployment
  • Undertake appraisals and staff development
  • Supervise and support junior staff members
