Job summary

Allen & York is seeking a Principal Hydrogeologist Consultant to join its growing Hydrogeology & Geology team in England. You will lead technical work across minerals, waste and environmental sectors and mentor junior staff.

You will deliver desk studies, reports, models, and groundwater management strategies, oversee site investigations, build client relationships, and ensure regulatory compliance on challenging projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Geological Society.
• Proven experience in groundwater assessment and hydrogeology projects.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience using hydrogeological modelling software.
• Experience managing office- and field-based activities.

About You

We're keen to hear from Hydrogeologists and Geologists who possess:

• Strong technical knowledge of hydrogeology, geology and environmental assessment.
• Proven experience undertaking groundwater assessment projects.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Sound understanding of relevant environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience using hydrogeological modelling software.
• Confidence managing both office-based and field-based activities.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
• Previous project management experience would be advantageous.

Qualifications & Professional Memberships

• Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or a related discipline.
