Your impact

Our Energy & Power team provides a comprehensive system approach, supporting clients in energy networks, thermal and renewable generation, and storage solutions. We help clients address challenges such as replacing thermal power plants with renewable sources, working on complex infrastructure projects that enhance expertise in HV cable systems.

About the Opportunity

This role involves designing high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) power cable systems, from detailed design and cost estimation to contract engineering and project delivery for systems up to 400kV. Responsibilities include:

• Developing specifications, concepts, detailed designs, and supporting documentation
• Providing technical support on HV cable system engineering
• Designing HVDC cables for offshore wind farms
• Preparing technical specifications, route plans, tender documents, and reports
• Ensuring interface coordination with other engineering functions and stakeholders
• Supporting factory inspections and testing
• Performing technical calculations and design verifications
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and company procedures
• Promoting health, safety, and environmental best practices
• Assisting with temporary works design and maintaining good client and team relations
• Preparing risk assessments, method statements, and inspection plans

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in consultancy, contracting, or utility sectors within energy
• Extensive experience with cable design supporting FEED and detailed phases
• Ability to lead HV/EHV cable projects at all stages
• Proficiency with CYMCAP for cable system design
• Experience with EHV transmission voltages and HVDC/HVAC systems
