Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an experienced Principal Highways Engineer to provide Construction Phase Support on the HS2 MWCC project in the West Midlands. The role focuses on responding to live site queries and change requests, and leading the end-to-end Stage 3 Road Safety Audit process, ensuring all technical responses and documentation are controlled and auditable through the project CDE/workflow.

Qualifications

Strong highways engineering background with experience in major infrastructure delivery.
Experience in construction phase support (RFIs, SFCRs).
Experience managing Road Safety Audits, ideally Stage 3, including Designer's Responses.
Confident stakeholder management with client bodies and highway authorities.

Responsibilities

Respond to RFIs and live site technical queries.
Assess and respond to Site Field Change Requests (SFCRs).
Review material acceptance requests for compliance with standards.
Coordinate with contractor and stakeholders to close out queries and maintain progress.
Lead RSA3 process: draft RSA3 Brief, arrange site visits, process RSA reports in CDE, draft Designer's Response.
Manage documentation through the approved workflow and ensure records are auditable.
