Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Principal Highways & Drainage Engineer to lead complex construction engineering services across multiple UK locations.

You will drive safe, buildable designs and contribute to shaping engineering capabilities within a collaborative team. The role focuses on temporary works, design leadership, and development of standards, with agile working patterns across Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich and

Qualifications

Chartered membership of a relevant institution (e.g. CEng MICE) with significant experience.
Experience leading complex construction engineering services focused on highways and drainage.
Ability to provide technical expertise and design management across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong skills in developing and maintaining positive client and stakeholder relationships.
Commitment to promoting sustainable development and best practice in engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of highways and drainage design and temporary works design and checking.
Provide tender and bid support, including outline designs and feasibility studies.
Manage project leadership activities, agreeing technical requirements and overseeing deliverables.
Act as a technical help desk, offering engineering expertise to support understanding.
Develop technical standards and design processes to ensure consistent quality of output.
