The team works closely with directors and specialists from across the UK, ensuring high standards of technical delivery in a range of challenging projects.

As the Principal for highways projects at the Manchester office, the successful candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent highways projects, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards and financial targets. You will work directly with directors and teams across the company to manage key road projects, including designing new roads, managing realignments for bridge replacements, and delivering access roads for major developments. In addition, you will provide mentorship to junior staff, foster client relationships, and contribute to the overall growth of the highways team.

The successful candidate must:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with membership in a relevant institution (MICE, MIHT, etc.).
  • 8 years of experience in highways technical design and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of DMRB/MCHW.
  • Lead in the technical design and delivery of highways projects.
  • Manage and mentor staff, ensuring their development and contributing to team performance.
  • Act as a company ambassador to clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop project proposals, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with engineers across regional offices and technical groups, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable: Experience with software such as MicroStation, Civils 3D, MX, Infraworks, and Microdrainage.

They invest in their people’s development and well-being. They offer a hybrid working model, allowing you to balance your time between home and the office. Additionally, the social activity groups support work-life balance and professional networking. If you're ready to contribute to exciting highway projects and grow within an innovative company, we encourage you to apply and join this talented team!
