Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking experienced Principal High-Speed Digital Electronics Engineers to join our GCAP radar programme in Edinburgh or Newcastle. You will design cutting-edge high-speed digital PCBs, lead hardware development across the full lifecycle, and work within a multi-disciplinary delivery team.

You will translate system-level requirements into robust hardware designs, use schematic capture, design high-speed serial links, and integrate hardware with firmware and software.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Physics or related field.
• Experience designing high-speed digital electronics.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and maintain configuration control.

Responsibilities

• Design cutting-edge high-speed digital PCBs with FPGAs and microprocessors.
• Lead hardware development across the full lifecycle from requirements to delivery.
• Translate system requirements into robust hardware designs and use schematic capture.
• Design high-speed serial links and integrate hardware, firmware and software.
• Test, debug, and verify designs and support system commissioning.
