Position: Principal Hardware Test Engineer

Location: Brighton, United Kingdom

Experience Needed: A strong background in electrical/electronic testing, new product introduction, and production test readiness within aerospace, defence, automotive, or complex manufacturing environments.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturing team as a Principal Test Engineer, focusing on defining test requirements and leading test readiness activities during prototype and development phases, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with quality.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Defining and maintaining test requirements for electrical/electronic systems.
2. Supporting production test readiness and testing of prototypes.
3. Developing process flows and test architecture with project teams.
4. Creating and managing Manufacturing Test Requirement Specifications (MTRS).
5. Contributing to Process FMEAs and test mitigations.
6. Collaborating with design and test equipment teams to develop test solutions.
7. Leading Production Readiness and Industrialisation Reviews.
8. Estimating testing efforts and validating production costs.
9. Maintaining test documentation and validation plans.

Requirements:

1. Experience in digital and analogue electronics testing in manufacturing.
2. Understanding of electrical/electronic test principles and equipment.
3. Experience in defining test strategies and validation documentation.
4. Desirable: Exposure to RF technology and system-level testing.
5. Beneficial: Experience in NPI and production test readiness.
