Role Description:

We are seeking a Principal Graphics Programmer to join our Firesprite studio. You will work on a dark, story-driven 'Narrative Adventure' project aiming to push the boundaries of atmosphere, storytelling, and player agency on next-generation hardware technologies. This AAA project emphasizes art, animation, and delivering unique character performances to enhance immersion and player presence.

The role requires presence in the studio 2-3 days per week with flexibility.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with artists to research and develop innovative graphics features.
  • Write scalable, reusable code with performance optimization.
  • Maintain, extend, and optimize existing engine and game features.
  • Ensure build performance and stability throughout development.
  • Take ownership of features and document work thoroughly.
  • Mentor junior team members.

What we're looking for:

  • Several years’ experience developing AAA console/PC titles across all development stages.
  • Knowledge of DirectX12, AGC, or other explicit rendering APIs.
  • Strong skills in HLSL or similar shading languages, understanding of RDNA ISA.
  • Expertise in modern C++ and overall software engineering and debugging skills.
  • Experience with multithreaded development and debugging.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of rendering technologies.
  • Excellent 3D math and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to modify and extend complex systems.
  • Experience with profiling tools to identify CPU & GPU bottlenecks.
  • Deep knowledge of the GPU pipeline.
