Job Title: Principal Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £50-65k

A brand-new opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist to join a thriving team has opened up in Newcastle. This role offers a chance to lead and manage projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development within a growing geotechnical and environmental team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee geotechnical and environmental projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, residential, and commercial.
  2. Undertake and review ground investigations, risk assessments, and interpretative reporting.
  3. Provide technical expertise in areas such as slope stability, foundation design, retaining structures, and ground improvement.
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused and cost-effective solutions.
  5. Engage in business development and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Civil Engineering (MSc in Geotechnics or Engineering Geology beneficial).
  2. Chartered or near-chartered status.
  3. Proficiency in industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLAXIS, RocScience, Oasys).
  4. Strong project management and technical skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
