Job description

I am looking to speak with a Principal Geotechnical Engineer specialising in detailed design to build and develop a Geotechnical team in Croydon. You will be sat alongside established multi-disciplinary teams, assisting the wider UK geotechnical team for an SME design consultancy that is currently going through an exciting growth phase.

Your responsibilities as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer will be to support the UK Geotechnical team on projects across the UK but ultimately providing strategic leadership and technical oversight to the Croydon office focussing on rail projects.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer responsibilities include both technical delivery and commercial growth. A taste include; designing of ground investigations, foundation design (deep and shallow including settlement), detailed pile design, slope stability analysis, soil nailing/rock anchors design, design of retaining structures, writing geotechnical reports, tendering, bidding whilst being extremely client facing.

Exciting rail project work across frameworks, contractor designer and reactive.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer Specification:

  • Chartered or near to chartered status (MICE)
  • Civil Engineering education background with a focus on soil mechanics.
  • 8+ years experience within geotechnical detailed design using industry software
  • Experience on UK rail projects.
  • Ambition to grow a Geotechnical team and get stuck into business development.
