You will mentor engineers, supervise field operations, review reports, and contribute to business growth while maintaining high delivery standards.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (or working towards) with a professional body is desirable.
• Experience reading borehole records and data deliverables.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Geologist to join a well-established infrastructure consultancy. This permanent role sits within the Infrastructure Division and plays a key part in the successful delivery of complex ground investigation projects. You will provide technical leadership, oversee field operations, and mentor a team of engineers, contributing to both project excellence and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage multiple ground investigation projects, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality standards
• Act as Technical Manager on large-scale ground investigation projects, both on land and overwater
• Supervise in-field works, including soil and rock logging in accordance with relevant industry standards
• Oversee in-situ testing and sampling activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications
• Promote accurate data collection and recording, providing constructive feedback to team members
• Review, check, and issue factual reports, interpretative reports, and AGS data to clients
• Provide technical support to project teams and contribute to continuous improvement in delivery standards
• Mentor and support the technical and professional development of engineers and junior staff

Skills & Experience

• Strong technical knowledge of a wide range of ground investigation techniques
• Proven experience managing and supervising ground investigation projects
• Confident in providing technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams
• Experience checking reports, borehole records, and data deliverables
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal teams
