Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Principal FPGA Engineer.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, verification, and debugging of VHDL-based FPGA solutions for new products.
2. Integration of FPGA solutions with wider software solutions.
3. Configuration control & CI/CD processes for FPGA designs integrated with software.
4. Work with architecture team in developing new system architectures.

Required experience:

1. Degree or equivalent in Electronic/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, or other relevant disciplines.
2. 5+ years proven track record in design and delivery of complex FPGA-based systems.
3. VHDL RTL design,
4. Synthesis, place/route, and timing closure,
5. Test verification and simulation methods,
6. Xilinx FPGA architectures,
7. Software experience with C or Python;
8. Translation of math algorithms and mapping to FPGA architectures for area and performance optimization.
9. Integration and bring-up of hardware systems.
10. Development on Linux or Windows-based systems.

Bonus experience:

1. Xilinx FPGA SoC systems
2. Intel (Altera) architectures (including SoC),
3. Verilog,
4. Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms,
5. Product/device/security approvals knowledge.

Personal attributes:

1. Broad interest in embedded systems and awareness of latest industry developments.
2. Self-motivated, able to work with others to take a project through to completion.
