Job summary

Syngenta seeks an onsite Principal Formulation Scientist at Jealott's Hill, UK, to independently define project plans and deliver a portfolio of formulation projects. You will influence the technical direction within the site’s formulation community and pursue opportunities to generate IP in your programs.

You will support and shape the science and technology strategy at the site, develop extensive technical knowledge, and advance Global Formulation capabilities, contributing to safe, scalable

Qualifications

• First degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
• PhD or relevant industrial experience in formulation science.
• Fluent in English, written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of project management.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with safe, independent work.

• Independently defines project plans and delivers a portfolio of formulation projects.

To support this mission, Syngenta’s Hiring Team is seeking an Onsite, Principal Formulation Scientist in Jealott's Hill, UK.

Accountabilities

• Independently defines project plans and delivers a portfolio of projects.
• Influences the technical direction of other's projects within the site’s formulation community.
• Actively identifies and explores opportunities to generate broad IP in own projects.
• Supports and influences the development and implementation of science & technology strategy at site or department in areas of expertise.
• Develops extensive technical knowledge in a technology area, and builds Agrochemical industry knowledge to advance the capability of Global Formulation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• First degree in Chemistry or broadly related scientific discipline
• A strong colloid or physical organic chemist with a PhD or relevant industrial experience in formulation science
• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Basic knowledge of project management
• Hands-on experience of working in laboratory with proven track record of working safely, independently and efficiently
• Basic knowledge of data science with skills to support experiment design and data analysis

Desired Qualifications

• Experience developing new technologies and deploying them into commercial application and/or
• Experience in developing formulations within an industrial setting, with an understanding of the compromises required when developing new products

Jealott's Hill International Research Centre UK is situated in pleasant semi-rural surroundings between Bracknell and Maidenhead and is the place of work for approximately 800 Syngenta scientists and support staff. Jealott's Hill is one of the main global research and development sites and key activities include research into discovery of new active ingredients, new formulation technologies, product safety and technical support of our product range.
