Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Flood Risk Hydraulic Modeller / Hydrologist to join our flood risk and drainage team. The position is based in our offices in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, or Newcastle, with flexible working options from home to achieve the best outcomes.
Responsibilities: We require a highly experienced individual to assist in hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessments supporting flood risk schemes and assessments. Our projects vary from £2k to £100M, covering sectors like defence, transport, local government, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and residential development. You will work independently on technical aspects from project inception, including methodology, hydrological calculations, model building, quality assurance, calibration, simulations, and reporting, following best practices. Opportunities also exist to collaborate on broader engineering projects and engage with senior management.
You will manage projects independently, serve as the main client contact, and potentially supervise junior staff. You will contribute to proposal development and may travel within the UK, including outside normal hours as needed.
Ideal Candidate: The candidate should demonstrate experience or skills in:
Qualifications include a degree in a relevant field, chartered status with CIWEM or equivalent, and a full UK driving licence. Security clearance to SC level is preferable or willingness to obtain.
