Job description

My client, a specialist UK-based Engineering Consultancy specializing in Drainage, Civil, and Flood Risk Engineering, is seeking a Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to join a new team in Basingstoke.

Applicants should have a BSc and/or MSc in Civil Engineering or Hydrology, with experience working for a UK-based Consultancy or Local Authority on Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Drainage Strategies, and Drainage Design using Microdrainage.

The role offers the opportunity to work within an experienced team on diverse projects including residential, commercial, fuel from waste, renewable energy, battery storage, and solar projects for Local Authorities, House Builders, Contractors, and Private Sector Clients.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Conducting flood risk assessments for flood zones 1, 2, and 3.
2. Developing surface water management plans.
3. Designing surface water and foul drainage strategies.
4. Detailed design of drainage systems.
5. Designing SuDS using Microdrainage for various developments.
6. Performing Drainage Impact Assessments.
7. Managing and mentoring team members and projects.
8. Business development and promoting the company's services to new and existing clients.
