Job summary

A leading hydrology and hydrogeology consultancy near Birmingham seeks a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead permitting projects and support a specialist team. The role requires a background in geology, geography or environmental management with UK consultancy experience in permitting, regulation and consents.

You will join a regional team on a hybrid basis, visit quarries and landfills, and manage client relationships while guiding project delivery and team training.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Geology, Geography or Environmental Management.
• Experience completing environmental permitting, environmental regulation and environmental consents for UK-based consultancy.
• Report writing experience; minerals and waste knowledge.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation and policies by Environment Agencies and Government Bodies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental permit applications.
• Issue environmental permits for landfill, waste management, quarries and mineral extraction.
• Provide environmental planning support for mineral extraction and quarrying.
• Conduct environmental monitoring and ensure compliance.
• Oversee water abstraction licensing and discharge consents.
• Manage and train team members.
• Project manage and liaise with clients to discuss project development.

My Client, a market leading Hydrology and Hydrogeological Consultancy, based in Birmingham is searching for a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to join their team.

Candidates are required to have an academic background in Geology, Geography or Environmental Management and experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing environmental permitting, environmental regulation and environmental consents.

Report writing experience, minerals and waste experience and management experience is also !

A good understanding of environmental legislation and environmental policies covered by The Environment Agencies and Government Bodies.

You will be required to work from the office on a hybrid basis and a driving licence is required to attend site visits across the region.

As a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will join a specialist team based near Birmingham. You will be required to support a team, manage projects and complete;

• -Environmental permit applications.
• -Environmental permits for landfill, waste management, quarries and mineral extraction.
• -Environmental planning support for mineral extraction and quarrying.
