Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental permit applications and related supporting documents.
• Manage environmental permits for landfill, waste management, quarries and mineral extraction.
• Provide environmental planning support for mineral extraction and quarrying.
• Oversee environmental monitoring and compliance activities.
• Coordinate water abstraction licensing and discharge consents.
• Lead and train team members; project manage and liaise with clients.

My Client, a market leading Hydrology and Hydrogeological Consultancy, based in Birmingham is searching for a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant to join their team.

Candidates are required to have an academic background in Geology, Geography or Environmental Management and experience working for a UK based Consultancy completing environmental permitting, environmental regulation and environmental consents.

Report writing experience, minerals and waste experience and management experience is also preferred!

A good understanding of environmental legislation and environmental policies covered by The Environment Agencies and Government Bodies.

You will be required to work from the office on a hybrid basis and a driving licence is required to attend site visits across the region.

As a Principal Environmental Permitting Consultant, you will join a specialist team based near Birmingham. You will be required to support a team, manage projects and complete;

• Environmental permit applications.
• Environmental permits for landfill, waste management, quarries and mineral extraction.
• Environmental planning support for mineral extraction and quarrying.
• Environmental monitoring and compliance.
• Water abstraction licencing and discharge consents.
• Manage and train team members.
• Project Manage and liaise with clients to discuss project development.

This role offers hybrid working and site visits to quarries and landfill sites across the region.
