Job Description:

Due to continued growth, SLR has an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Principal grade Consultant to join its thriving Environment Management, Permitting and Compliance (EMPC) team. The successful candidate will be involved in permitting and compliance issues, including permit applications, variations, surrenders, compliance audits, and management system support.

The UK-based team of 26 consultants provides regulatory compliance and environmental management services to the waste, industry, power, and energy sectors with complex legislative obligations. The team operates mainly in the UK, but plans to expand into mainland Europe. As part of a global business, there are opportunities to collaborate internationally.

The successful candidate will receive mentorship and have significant potential for career development based on performance.

The Role:

The candidate will contribute to the EMPC team's workload, including:

  • Managing permit applications, conducting audits, and developing management systems.
  • Keeping up-to-date with environmental permitting trends and best practices.
  • Using business development skills to acquire new clients.
  • Organizing self and junior team members to meet deadlines.
  • Maintaining professionalism and positivity.
  • Building rapport with clients.
  • Aligning with SLR’s 'One Team 5Bs' values.

SLR offers flexible and hybrid working practices. The preferred location is Manchester or Bristol, but other locations are possible.
