Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect in Birmingham to provide leadership on enterprise architecture strategy and governance. You will shape architecture across business, data, and technology domains and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.

You will collaborate with solution, security, and delivery teams to drive architecture roadmaps, cloud strategies, and assurance activities, enabling resilient and value-driven digital services.

Qualifications

• Senior authority on enterprise architecture with governance responsibilities.
• Ability to translate strategy into technology roadmaps and architecture designs.
• Experience leading cross-disciplinary architecture discussions and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain enterprise-wide architecture design framework across business, data, and technology domains.
• Maintain architecture standards and design principles including TOGAF and government Technology Code of Practice.
• Lead architecture governance processes, including design reviews and enterprise assurance.
• Translate organisational strategy into technology roadmaps and long-term capability plans.
• Oversee cloud and platform architecture to ensure cost‑effective, secure delivery.
• Define architecture lifecycle processes from concept to retirement with independent design assurance.
• Provide architectural leadership to multidisciplinary teams and support senior leaders in tech strategy decisions.
