We are now looking for a Principal Structural Engineer who wants to join our team and who can strengthen our capabilities in our Aberdeen offices (Hybrid working)

In the developing energy mix, commercial risks are as prominent as technical risks, and our consultancy will provide broad multi-faceted advice to our customers. This developing market, coupled with an unprecedented demand for our execution experience, means that we are looking to grow our consultancy team with technical, consulting and commercially minded individuals who can help us meet the challenge of a just and orderly energy transition.

What will you be doing?

Responsible for the performance of all or a specific part of the structural & Civil engineering activities / tasks such as:

  • Perform structural engineering and analysis for initial feasibility study, concept design and pre-FEED project phases.
  • Preparing and finishing structural reports
  • Preparing structural philosophies and conceptual MTOs / quantities
  • Preparing and delivering technical presentations.
  • Preparing structural input to proposals

We think you should have:

  • University civil or structural engineering degree or relevant education with more than 15 years post graduate experience in front end or FEED projects.
  • substantial experience within the offshore oil & gas/renewable energy sector.
  • Experience in the design of jackets and topsides (greenfield / brownfield)
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience of structural analysis software / tools such as STAADPro and SESAM.
  • Knowledge of design software such as E3D, Navisworks and Autocad.
  • Knowledge of non-linear software, such as Abaqus is beneficial.
