We are looking for an experienced property/engineering professional to join the compliance team within our Property Services Operations function.
As the Group Manager for the compliance team on the Hampshire County Council (HCC) schools and corporate estate, you will be leading a team of specialists to deliver and manage programmes of inspections, surveys and remedial works to ensure we maintain compliance across the estate.
This is a key role, responsible for managing and developing multiple compliance activities including electrical test and inspection, structural inspections, tree surveys, pressure systems (PSSR), lifts (LOLER) and pollution across 10,000 buildings and over 1000 sites.
You will be passionate about delivering public services; a collaborative and empathetic leader, able to inspire and lead teams. You will be commercially and financially aware and able to flex to meet the changing requirements of the role in line with service priorities. Highly self-motivated you will be able to effectively manage and prioritise a busy workload. A good networker, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across a broad span of stakeholders, you will also be an excellent listener and communicator to a wider or generalist audience in oral, written, presentation and briefing form.
You will be suitably qualified, from a building surveying, engineering, or other property/engineering related discipline and able to evidence recent relevant experience in planning and delivery of programmes of inspections and remedial works; leading multi-disciplinary teams of property professionals; managing client relationships; owning and delivering against financial budgets; and ensuring compliance in respect of health, safety and risk management.
The Compliance Team Group Leader will join the leadership team of Hampshire County Council’s (HCC) award-winning Property service which is one of the largest in-house property functions in local government.
You will lead a team of specialist functions to effectively deliver risk management and compliance activities, and processes, meeting our statutory obligations relating to the built estate.
HCC’s Property service is a multi-disciplinary design, facilities and estate management team who hold considerable expertise in the stewardship of the public estate, delivering work that supports more than 1000 sites and the 1.4 million residents across Hampshire.
