About the role

The position offers the opportunity to:

• Apply your experience and knowledge to the design of tailings and waste rock facilities.
• Actively contribute to growing the size and developing the technical capability of the mine waste team.
• Have a high degree of autonomy in managing your workload and due recognition for your contribution to delivering multi-disciplinary projects.
• Help to deliver projects and develop new business in Spain and Latin America.
• Work with an extremely capable and experienced team to provide support as a mine waste specialist as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver complex projects.
• Develop good working relationships with existing clients and develop new relationships with potential clients to further increase the growth of the business.
• Establish and elevate your reputation amongst a team of international professionals, with potential to become a recognized leader in mine waste, within a diverse, well-managed international business on an exciting and ambitious growth trajectory.

About you:

If you think this could be your next career move, we would love to hear from you. To succeed, you should demonstrate:

• A relevant Geotechnical qualification, either holding or eligible for Chartered status; and a specialization within Tailings Engineering, with significant experience within a Geotechnical Consultancy.
• Capability to lead projects from concept through feasibility to final design and implementation, providing guidance to clients.
• Fluency in either French or Spanish, with excellent report writing and communication skills in English, and ability to prepare fee proposals, reports, design specifications, and drawings.
• The ability to manage, lead, and mentor a team, and to deliver geotechnical and multidisciplinary projects.
• A full UK driving license.

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• Good knowledge of mining industry standards such as GISTM, ANCOLD, CDA, etc.
• Experience in water management and water balance modeling.
• Experience with geotechnical software like GeoStudio, Plaxis, or industry standards.
• Experience acting as Deputy Engineer of Record or Deputy Designer of Record for tailings facilities.
