Locations: Glasgow, London, Derby, Bristol or York

Type: Permanent

Work Arrangement: Office/Home Hybrid

Join our International Geotechnical team as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer. Lead and coordinate projects from feasibility to detailed design, supervise teams, and ensure compliance with standards. Develop designs, manage project controls, and contribute to business development.

  • Prepare and review engineering designs, technical documents, and calculations.
  • Lead and develop engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers towards Chartered status.
  • Manage projects, oversee conceptual and detailed designs, and supervise site activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Eurocodes and industry standards.
  • Contribute to tender preparations and coordinate external contractors.
  • Develop project controls, monitor progress, and report to management.
  • Engage in geotechnical design work including tunnels, earthworks, and foundations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • MSc or MEng in Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering with Geotechnical focus.
  • Chartered status (CGeol, CEng, or equivalent).
  • Experience in design environment, with site experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in numerical modelling (e.g., 3D Plaxis) and geotechnical software (Geo Studio suite).
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes, statutory processes, and technical standards.
  • Experience in rail, tunnelling, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and risk assessment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
