Job Description:

We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Principal Electrical & ICA Engineer based out of Bristol or Exeter with hybrid working available.

You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead or Regional Engineering Lead. Your role will be to provide high-quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. This includes coordinating the design and producing design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards relevant to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are constructible and commissionable, considering all associated costs including design, materials, erection, and impacts on other disciplines.
2. Utilizing standard practices whenever possible.
3. Providing estimates and feedback for proposals.
4. Following procedures and processes to develop and improve departmental operations.
5. Assisting in developing and monitoring procedures to ensure efficient workflow.
6. Coordinating designs with all relevant internal and external disciplines to benefit the overall contract.
7. Maintaining files and records throughout project durations.
8. Ensuring customer satisfaction, recognizing it as key to achieving objectives.
9. Supervising and developing staff, ensuring a safe working environment.
10. Minimizing waste from departmental activities.
11. Considering environmental issues in designs.
12. Ensuring all designs comply with health and safety requirements.
