Contract details: £81.05 per hour (Umbrella), inside IR35, 12-month rolling contract

Job Definition

This description is based on the UK-SPEC UK STANDARD FOR PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING COMPETENCE, THIRD EDITION, published by the UK Engineering Council. References to ‘Chartered Engineer' or 'Engineer (C)' imply an equivalent professional registration and qualification in a relevant technical discipline.

Chartered Engineers develop solutions to engineering problems using new or existing technologies, through innovation, creativity, and change. They may have technical accountability for complex systems with significant levels of risk.

Chartered Engineers are expected to demonstrate:

  1. Theoretical knowledge to solve problems in new technologies and develop new analytical techniques.
  2. Successful application of knowledge to deliver innovative products and services and/or take technical responsibility for complex engineering systems.
  3. Accountability for project, finance, and personnel management, managing trade-offs between technical and socio-economic factors.
  4. Skills necessary to develop other technical staff.
  5. Effective interpersonal skills in communicating technical matters.
