Role description:

Our teams are working on some of the UK’s most technically challenging projects and AMP8 programmes. We are renowned for our expertise as a specialist water industry design and build contractor, trusted by the country’s leading water companies.

We have exciting opportunities for a Principal Electrical & ICA Engineer based at one of our offices across the UK (over 15 locations available) with hybrid working options.

Reporting to the Regional Discipline Lead, this role is within our Engineering Team, where we provide environmentally conscious, innovative, and sustainable solutions to the water industry to protect our future generations.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation design packages, ensuring projects meet cost, technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines, the engineering team, delivery team, and supply chain.
  • Liaise with clients, supply chain, and project stakeholders.
  • Adopt standard practices wherever possible.
  • Prepare high-quality design drawings, calculations, reports, and construction documentation.
  • Work in accordance with our contracts, business processes, and procedures.
  • Support safety, health, environmental, and quality objectives.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Gain experience in commercial, programme, and financial aspects.
  • Mentor and develop performance of assigned staff.
Qualifications & Experience: Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field. Chartered status and full membership of The Institution of Engineering & Technology. Strong experience in water projects or similar industries. Good self-motivation, influencing, and people management skills. Knowledge of BIM, REVIT, Plant 3D. Understanding of British Standards, UK Industry Codes, and Water Industry clients. Computer literacy. Valid driving license or ability to travel across the UK.
