We are experts in the river, estuarine, coastal and maritime sectors, providing consultancy advice and civil and structural design services to clients in a number of relevant sectors, including (but not limited to): ports and harbours; coastal and flood defence; water management; land reclamation; dredging and material management; planning and policy setting; and all other forms of water’s edge development (i.e. energy, recreation, military, telecommunication etc).

What will you do

· Mentor, supervise and instruct junior or less experienced consultants and engineers and other sub-professionals (drafters) in technical works as well as assist in professional development.

· Assist where appropriate in business development (meeting potential or actual clients, writing capability statements, preparing marketing materials).

· Checking and reviewing other staff works, (both inside and outside the firm) as required.

· Undertaking all office and company procedures necessary for the company to properly conduct its business (completing time sheets, leave applications, job records, invoicing).

· Undertake continuing self-education.

· Participate in in-house training in company procedures, workplace safety instruction and various site safety courses as required.

Provide input to leadership team, in relation to:

· effectiveness of the local business;

· achievement of business goals including client development, skill development and, project realisation and delivery.

Provide technical direction during the initiation, management and supervision of coastal/maritime engineering assignments (including construction supervision) in the context of project requirements of delivery on time and within budget, whilst achieving target utilisation (on project work). Participate in development of local technical systems and standards, and integration with broader Royal HaskoningDHV knowledge base.

Account Management

Participate in the development of the client base throughout Australia through the interaction with clients including strong face-to-face engagement.

To manage and run a number of high profile client accounts in our key sectors. You will be expected to maximize the market value from these clients through constant account management techniques.

Training and Knowledge Transfer

To provide encouragement and learning opportunities for staff to support ongoing and future business and to further career development.

Consult and liaise with colleagues to share information, lessons learnt, innovative approaches to problem solving, and the like. Identify issues /problems and develop appropriate and innovative solutions, involving other staff inputs as needed. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline and guide the dissemination of this information throughout the AG.

  • Have practical experience of working with modellers, ecologists and engineers to deliver robust solutions.
  • Have practical experience in modelling (hydrodynamic, surface water and EIA).
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering / environmental skills in the relevant discipline.

  • Strong client liaison, management and relationship development skills.
