Job Summary:

The Principal Application Engineer is responsible for leading the applications deliverables for a whole market area, in this instance, HSPON OLT. Working with Marketing and Product Definition to ensure we are specifying the right products, then with design and validation in the NPI process, all the way beyond manufacture release.

Responsibilities:

• Technically lead Applications Engineering for the OLT PON product line (project planning, responsibility for budget/schedule planning for NPAW, delegation of simpler tasks to and technical mentoring/directing of more junior apps engineers working on the OLT side).

• Personally, perform NPI activities for the OLT PON combo, including PCB design, RF simulation, documentation, optics selection, testing.

• Perform all customer facing activities including RDK generation, presentations, customer visits, conference attendance, supporting PLMs and representing Semtech to the outside world.

• Develop Semtech’s capability to win in the market in an ever more competitive landscape.

• Is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of Application designs/collateral and RDK releases to ensure project risk is managed effectively.
