Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Principal Engineer in South Oxfordshire to provide technical leadership on highway structures. This role involves overseeing project plans, conducting assessments, and managing contractor performance. Qualifications

Full time hrs on a temporary basis

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on the maintenance and management of highway structures.
  • Deliver feasibility studies, project plans, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee design, strengthening, and improvement works in line with CDM regulations.
  • Review third-party infrastructure proposals and provide expert guidance.
  • Conduct abnormal load assessments and ensure structural integrity.
  • Manage procurement, budgets, and contractor performance.
  • Represent the engineering function in stakeholder meetings and deputise for senior leadership when required.
Desirable
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in delivering highway or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural standards, CDM regulations, and asset management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
