Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Kier Design team in delivering innovative, safe and buildable solutions across high-profile construction projects.

You will guide temporary works design, value engineering, design management and technical assessment while mentoring engineers and driving quality across multidisciplinary teams. Based in multiple locations, you will represent Kier with clients, support business development, and help maintain industry-leading standards

Qualifications

• Chartered engineer with relevant experience in complex construction projects.

Job description

As a Principal Engineer, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering engineering excellence across a broad range of construction projects. This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of complex construction engineering services, providing safe and buildable solutions. You'll be responsible for a diverse range of activities including temporary works design, bid support, value engineering, design management, and technical assessment. Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a key role in enhancing Kier's reputation for delivering innovative, engineered outcomes while supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to industry best practice.

Your day to day will include:

• Leading the design and consultancy services including temporary works design, bid support, and value engineering
• Managing projects from remit development through to completion, ensuring technical compliance and client satisfaction

• A Chartered member of a relevant professional institution with relevant experience
• Experienced in leading complex construction engineering projects

• Able to build positive relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams
