Job summary

Our client is a world-leading electronics warfare and radar systems business with an exciting opportunity for an embedded software engineer to join their growing team.

Important

Strong embedded software development skills and expertise in C / C++. Linux experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Decompose top-level system or product requirements into an implementable software architecture.
• Develop software from preliminary specifications to verified design running on target hardware.
• Provide expert knowledge in software design, testing, and certification.
• Lead, coach, and guide other Design Engineers with support from senior engineers and leaders.
• Use good engineering practices to produce embedded software for innovative products and solutions.
• Support and enhance existing software according to business and commercial needs.
• Write technical documentation, including requirement specifications, test plans, and functional descriptions.
• Manage multiple projects or work packages.
• Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators to test hardware and verify software operation.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and collaborators on software-related matters.
• Occasional travel within the UK & Germany may be required.

Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Skills in C and C++.
• Experience with Linux and/or bare-metal development.
• Extensive experience in embedded software development.
• Proven ability to analyze system requirements and decompose them into suitable implementations.
• Track record of delivering designs on time and within budget.
• Experience with Radar or DSP applications is desirable but not essential.
