Job summary

Ramboll in London is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead own projects within the Building Services team. You will undertake detailed design, manage client relationships, and mentor junior engineers across a multi-disciplinary group.

You will work on major complex building projects across sectors, delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions while maintaining collaboration with other disciplines and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Being a qualified Engineer with a proven and demonstrable track record in their discipline.
• Having a CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree, or an HNC in an applicable discipline with commitment to continue with higher education.
• To have achieved or working towards IEng or CEng status.
• Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
• Able to inspire confidence both internally and externally, and then use this to strengthen client relationships.
• To be an excellent communicator and possess the ability to make what is complicated simple.
• To have an interest in or experience using digital and parametric design tools.

Responsibilities

• Take a key role representing Ramboll on MEP projects, leading your own discipline and, for suitably sized projects, also managing engineers of a complimentary discipline.
• Work with initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience.
• Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
• Inspire confidence internally and externally to strengthen client relationships.
• Manage time on projects to meet deadlines and complete tasks.
• As Ramboll project manager, coordinate tasks to meet deadlines and allocate resources.

You will join our multi-disciplinary London Buildings Engineering design team
Our London Buildings Engineering design team works across a global portfolio of major complex projects encompassing sectors such as Aviation, Commercial, Data Centres and Rail. As a [Senior Engineer/ Principal Engineer] you will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary (Building Services, Structures, Project/Design Managers, Critical Systems) Engineering team. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines and also be responsible for mentoring and developing the careers of junior engineering team members.

The ideal candidate is a Chartered Engineer with a demonstrable record of delivery on major, complex building projects; and is highly effective when working in a multidisciplinary design environment.

Your new role

As our new Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be working as part of a team, you will be expected to manage your own project work, undertake detailed design to the required standards and to maintain excellent levels of client service.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Where they are the Ramboll project manager, co-ordinate the tasks so all deadlines are met and allocate resource appropriately
