Job summary

TKMS ATLAS UK is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design and integration of electrical systems for advanced maritime programmes, including sonar, submarine, and autonomous tech. You will define architectures, select components, and ensure safety and EMC compliance, while producing schematics and wiring diagrams for complex systems.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with suppliers and customers, and drive design reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution and control.
• Experience with CAD tools and CE/UKCA directives; EMC and electrical safety knowledge.
• System-level integration and debugging experience.

• Collaborating with suppliers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take the lead on cutting-edge maritime projects?, Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)


• Strong knowledge of electrical system design, including power distribution and control systems


• Experience with CAD tools and CE/UKCA directives


• Familiarity with EMC, electrical safety, and industry standards


• System-level integration and debugging experience


• PLCs, motor control, or automation knowledge (desirable)


• A strong communicator, problem solver, and team player with leadership skills
