Overview

This is a key opportunity for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join an established multidisciplinary building services team on the South Coast. You will play a leading role in delivering technically robust electrical engineering solutions across commercial, residential and mission-critical sectors. The Bournemouth office benefits from long-standing regional relationships and a strong project pipeline, offering a stable platform for technical leadership and career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the technical delivery of electrical engineering design on complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Develop early-stage strategies, technical concepts and feasibility assessments
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure integrated engineering solutions
  • Attend and lead client meetings, workshops and design reviews
  • Oversee workload planning, fee awareness and resource allocation in collaboration with senior management
  • Provide technical guidance, peer reviews and quality assurance across project outputs
  • Mentor apprentices, graduates and developing engineers, supporting both technical and commercial growth
What You Need
  • Strong track record delivering electrical building services across varied and complex projects
  • Proficiency with modern digital delivery tools (Revit, BIM, Dialux, Relux, Electrical OM)
  • Experience working closely with clients, design partners, contractors and project managers
  • Ability to lead design teams, manage technical delivery and support project commercial performance
  • Clear communication skills, with confidence in client-facing environments
  • Commitment to collaborative working and high-quality engineering outcomes
Salary and Benefits

Salary range: £43,500 – £56,500 + £4,560 Travel Allowance + bens
