Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer

Job Overview

Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per year, depending on experience.
Location: Kendal or Penrith, with hybrid working arrangements.
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Monday to Friday.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our expanding team in Cumbria. You will work on delivering schools and corporate maintenance projects across local authorities, ensuring buildings are safe, modern, and efficient. This role offers the opportunity to support community development through capital works programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support the Building Services team in providing design, project management, and survey services.
  • Produce electrical design drawings, specifications, and reports to high standards.
  • Manage electrical surveys, defect investigations, and feasibility studies.
  • Supervise electrical installations on-site as Clerk of Works or NEC Supervisor.
  • Advise on health and safety, fire safety, and sustainability issues.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree or HNC in Building Services/Electrical Engineering with post-qualification experience.
  • Substantial industry experience as a senior engineer.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit, and NBS software.
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel.
