Job summary

Stonehouse Recruitment is supporting a Local Authority in the East Midlands to recruit a Principal Environmental Health Officer (Team Leader) for Food Safety on an initial six-month contract. The role offers hybrid working with two days on site, and a rate of £60+ per hour, negotiable.

Qualifications

• Proven Local Authority Environmental Health management or team-leader experience.
• Prior experience as Principal EHO is essential.
• EHRB registration is required.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel across the district.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Environmental Health Officers.
• Oversee food safety inspections and interventions.
• Maintain high standards of service delivery and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance and support to officers.
• Act as a key point of contact for colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Support wider Environmental Health functions as needed.
