We are seeking an accomplished Principal Educational Psychologist and Service Manager (SEMH) to join our vibrant, dedicated team in Newbury, UK. As a pivotal leader, you will guide a growing local authority Educational Psychology Service, ensuring innovative and inclusive outcomes for children and young people within the community. What you will do:

  1. Lead the Educational Psychology Service and SEMH teams, ensuring efficient and effective delivery across the council.
  2. Champion the Local Authority's Inclusion agenda, enhancing the service's role within the Children's Services Directorate and the wider council.
  3. Promote positive mental health and wellbeing, liaising with schools, Public Health, and the ICB.
  4. Collaborate strategically with children, young people, families, and stakeholders to maximize outcomes at both strategic and operational levels.
  5. Strategically oversee alternative provisions and pupil referral units.
  6. Ensure high-quality professional practice through innovative staff training and professional supervision.
  7. Engage with service users to continually evaluate and improve service delivery and systems.

The ideal candidate will hold a professional postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology and be HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist. Significant management experience in educational psychology services and the ability to lead at a strategic level are essential. You should be able to inspire and steer a team towards continuous improvement, forge successful partnerships, and uphold your commitment to empowering children and young people.
