Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a multidisciplinary consultancy, providing ecological, arboricultural, and landscape services to a variety of high-profile clients across a diverse range of sectors in the UK.

Overview

Our client is looking for an innovative and pro-active Principal Ecologist to join the Ecology team. The successful candidate will deliver ecological advice to a range of clients as well as support, manage and develop the Ecology team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver ecological advice to a range of clients.
  • Support, manage and develop the Ecology team.
  • Contribute to multifaceted projects and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policy in a UK context.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines on large-scale projects.
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree in ecology.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
  • Significant experience in a similar role with demonstrated success in managing projects and teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of ecology-related legislation and policy and practical application in the UK.
  • Extensive experience in ecological assessment and protected species surveys; strong species identification skills across taxonomic groups.
  • Excellent communicator; self-motivated, organized, able to multi-task and collaborate.
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
