£400p/d Umbrella Rate (Inside IR35)
3 Months Initially (with view for extension in place)

Job Description

Responsible for providing a professional housing surveying service, overseeing all technical aspects of repair, maintenance, improvement, and re-servicing of council-owned, managed, and leased stock in accordance with Newham Council's policies and procedures. The role involves delivering effective responsive repair and planned maintenance services and managing a team of surveyors and support staff within Housing Property Services.

Job Context

The post reports to the Disrepair & Special Projects Manager and has budget monitoring responsibility for a programme of responsive and capital improvement projects valued at around £2 million annually.

Requirements
  • UK resident
  • Over 3 years' experience in Local Authority/Social Housing
  • Related degree or equivalent qualification
  • Experience managing maintenance teams
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required, including emergency cover and stakeholder engagement
