We are looking for a talented Principal Digital Architect to join our team, specialising in Systems/Information Technology for Cummins in the United Kingdom.

This hybrid role is open to UK-based candidates who reside within a reasonable commuting distance of a Cummins location.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Define and assess digital solution architectures aligned with enterprise strategies, principles, and policies, driving updates where gaps exist.
  • Oversee the design and development of complex, scalable digital solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Champion the use of emerging technologies such as IoT, Telematics, and AI to address business challenges and enable digital transformation.
  • Evaluate AI use cases aligned with business objectives to lead the development and architecture of AI solutions through both build and buy strategies.
  • Lead the strategic planning, prioritisation, and execution of the DBU digital product roadmap to align with business goals.
  • Engage cross-functional teams, including business leaders, IT, and product managers, to gather requirements and deliver effective digital solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and organisational policies, enforcing architecture governance and quality standards.
  • Oversee financial planning, vendor engagement, and SOW management to ensure cost-effective solution delivery.
  • Implement risk management practices aligned with the BPT framework and deliver regular, transparent updates to stakeholders through effective communication strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Proven experience in architecting and designing cloud-based digital solutions, with strong knowledge of well-architected frameworks, enterprise integration, and evaluating solution trade-offs.
  • Strategic thinker with a digital-first and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of identifying innovation opportunities and driving business development through emerging technologies.
  • Solid understanding of connected products, IoT, telematics, and AI, with the ability to apply these technologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Skilled in analysing complex business systems and industry requirements, and translating them into scalable, secure digital architectures using Agile and DevSecOps practices.
  • Effective stakeholder management and collaboration to drive the required business outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required.
  • Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms.
  • Hands-on experience of AI use cases, platforms and solutions is essential.
