Overview of Role
At FinTrU our Product Technology team are seeking an experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to help lead the design, deployment, and optimization of high-quality solutions, contributing to both product and platform development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.

As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will advocate for best practices in automation, reliability, and performance while also mentoring our junior engineers to develop a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Please note this role is not open to London, and we are not accepting applicants wishing to be based in mainland GB.

The role is Hybrid and can be based at our Belfast or Derry offices.

Job Details

You should apply if you have:
  • 7+ years' experience in a software development environment, within a hands on product support/DevOps role, with demonstratable examples of RCA, support techniques and extensive experience in incident management
  • Expert-level proficiency in Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and containerisation services: Docker & Kubernetes
  • Expertise in building, enhancing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
This is an opportunity to work on:
  • Collaborating with product and architecture teams to enhance the quality and performance of product and platform solutions, ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Driving the adoption of DevOps practices, delivering measurable performance improvements and ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Implementing and managing automation tools and infrastructure as code (IAC) solutions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.
  • Leading and managing incident response efforts, including root cause analysis for critical system failures.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and improvement across DevOps and SRE teams
