Job summary

Harvey Nash Group is partnering with a confidential challenger bank in London to hire for Principal Engineer roles. You will lead a squad of 8‑10 engineers, owning end-to-end delivery of greenfield AI-native banking features and related architectures.

You should bring strong leadership, expertise in Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript, and cloud/AI tooling. The role offers a hybrid London workplace with collaboration 2 days per week in the office.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leadership with ownership of end‑to‑end delivery of technical products.
• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and modern front-end stacks (React/TypeScript).
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures; AI tools a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a squad of 8-10 engineers to deliver greenfield AI-native banking features.

My Confidential Challenger Banking Client are looking for Principal Engineers to build new greenfield AI native digital banking products 0-1! They are using the latest AI Technology to ship fast.

They can offer up to £150,000 basic + 20% bonus + double matched pension.

They are based in London, and collaborate 2 days a week in the office.

We are looking for strong Full Stack Principal Engineers to lead a squad of 8-10 with the following experience:

• Seniority: experience leading as a principal, staff level or tech lead.
• Ownership / Accountability: Have been responsible for the end to end delivery of technical products.
• The Key technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Azure, Kafka, React/Typescript, React Native, (Using AI Tools is a big Plus).
• Experience with API's, Microservices, Event Driven Architecture. (Greenfield Next Generation Solutions is a big plus)
