Job summary

Autodesk, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for a new Electron and Chromium-based desktop platform for Autodesk web applications.

You will define the platform architecture, lead complex technical decisions, and guide engineers across Electron runtime, Windows integrations, and shared platform capabilities, while remaining actively involved in design and review. Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with Electron, Chromium-based applications, or similar desktop platforms.
• Strong understanding of architecture, asynchronous systems, security, and lifecycle management.
• Experience leading design and implementation across multiple engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture of the Electron desktop platform.
• Hands-on platform engineering across Electron, Chromium, Node.js, and Windows APIs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
• Collaborate with product, security, and delivery teams across Autodesk.
• Ensure platform readiness, testing, and automated delivery capabilities.
• Lead assessment of new Electron/Chromium releases and platform changes.
