Description
Due to continued growth, McBains are looking for a Principal Designer / CDM Consultant to join our London based team.
A Consultant is expected to have a minimum of 3-5 years CDM design / delivery experience, and will be supporting the team with both strategic and operational delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor, offering insights and recommendations to enhance service operations.Ensure that all deliverables meet high-quality standards and align with service delivery expectations.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement processes within the consulting team.
- A Consultant plays a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance within a project team. Experience may include the delivery of CDM services for both public and private Clients, across multiple Sectors within the construction industry including commercial, residential and education, working within multidiscipline framework agreements.
- Delivery of CDM Compliance services through a direct appointment by the Client, as a 3rd Party to a design practice or Principal Contractor, or in the capacity of a CDM Advisor.
- Oversee the implementation of CDM regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify potential hazards during the design phase.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety protocols.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Provide expert advice on best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and maintain essential documentation, including pre-construction information and health and safety files.
- Ensure all records are up-to-date and accessible for audits and inspections.
- Perform regular site visits to monitor compliance and address any safety concerns.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements based on observations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures related to CDM.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The ideal candidate must have NEBOSH (Construction or General) certification
They will also hold one or more of the below:
- GradIOSH (Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health.)
- Affilate MaPS (Completion of study)
- Affiliate IIRSM
- Design and or Construction related professional bodies such as CABE, CIAT or CIOB
